GLOBALG.AP Integrated Farm Certification

GLOBALG.AP is a certification brand that guarantees responsible "agriculture and aquaculture" and was developed by FoodPLUS GmbH, based in Cologne, Germany, in cooperation with producers, retailers, and other stakeholders in the food industry. GLOBALG.AP certification includes various standards for practicing safe, socially and environmentally responsible agriculture and aquaculture.

The most widely used of the GLOBALG.AP standards is the GLOBALG.AP Integrated Farm Certification (for fruits and vegetables, aquaculture, flowers, etc.) This standard is also the basis for the GGN label, a consumer-facing product label.

GLOBALG.AP began its journey as EUREPGAP in 1997. 25 years later, more than 134 producers in 20 countries are now GLOBALG.AP certified.

GLOBALG.AP Aquaculture Certification

The Standard for Aquaculture is a global standard that defines clear principles and criteria for responsible aquaculture practices. It takes a holistic approach and is designed to improve management of aquaculture farms, increase operational efficiency, protect the environment and enable access to international markets through six key themes:

1. Food safety
2. Animal Health and Welfare
3. Environmental sustainability
4. Compliance, Control and Traceability
5. Production process
6. Occupational Safety and Health

GLOBALG.AP aquaculture standards cover the entire production process, from hatchery, juveniles, feed, culture, fishing and transportation.

Industry Recognition

The GLOBALG.AP aquaculture standard has been in operation for nearly 20 years and has been developed and improved through extensive collaboration with stakeholders across the aquaculture industry. Currently, over 250 million tons of farmed seafood are produced and shipped annually around the world according to the GLOBALG.AP standard.

The GLOBALG.AP aquaculture standard is designed to cover all farmed aquatic species, including fish, crustaceans, mollusks and seaweed. At the farm level, it is the only aquaculture certification standard recognised by GFSI, the global food safety standard for businesses.GSSIIt is also recognized by.

GGN Label – a consumer label based on GLOBALG.AP standards

The GGN label is a label that indicates certified responsible agriculture and fisheries and supply chain transparency. The GGN label can be displayed on both packaged and loose products. This label provides consumers with a high degree of confidence that the product has been produced in a certified responsible manner according to the GLOBALG.AP standard.

The GGN label applies to farmed seafood, fruits, vegetables, and flowers, and is accompanied by a 13-digit identification number that consumers can use to verify the origin of the product through the GGN portal site.

・The conditions for displaying the GGN label on farmed seafood products are as follows (all must be met).
・The farm is GLOBALG.AP certified.
The feed used is provided by a company that has GLOBALG.AP Certification for Formula Feed Manufacturing (CFM) or an equivalent certification, or is certified as ISO/IEC17065 or ISO/IEC17021 for formula feed manufacturing.
- The farm is fully compliant with GRASP (GLOBALG.AP Social Practice Assessment Standard).
・Companies in the supply chain must be CoC: Chain of Custody certified.
・The company in charge of the GGN label must have a GGN label license.
